Martyr Kambar Chakar was born on October 7, 1987, in house of Chakar Baloch and Shahista Baloch in Alandor, Buleda area of Kech, Balochistan. His family migrated to Shahi Tump Turbat of District Kech. After acquiring primary education in his native area Alandor, Qambar Chakar got admission at Atta Shad Degree College Turbat. For further education, he went to Shaal (Quetta) where he managed to seek admission at the prestigious Balochistan University of Information, Technology and Management Sciences (BUITMS) as a BS Economics student after passing a very competitive exam. Along with continuing his studies as a student at BUITMS, he also became active in student politics and worked hard to spread the awareness of Baloch nationalism among Baloch students. In this regard, he launched the first unit of BSO AZAD in BUITMS. Many of the students, after being inspired by Kambar Chakar, joined the journey of BSO Azad which was boarding clearly on the Independent Balochistan.
Kambar was a vocal person for the enforced disappeared persons too, as he had been mostly engaged with the foreign journalists as he was proficient in English language. Kambar was an extraordinary leader of the student organization. Whenever he got the mic, none could speak better than him on stage. When he held the pen, he wrote efficiently than anyone could ever. Further, he was a committed and courageous worker of BSO Azad. He even joined weekly study circles in injured conditions. He remained punctual in Organizational activities. In a very short period, Kambar became an exceptional leader among Baloch students due to his struggle for the students’ rights and independence. He very soon became a leading figure among Baloch youth when he campaigned for the rights of Balochistan in his institution BUITMS.
Firstly, Kambar was whisked away by the security forces in 2009 when he had gone to the Takato Campus of the University to meet with the Vice-Chancellor on the issues of open merit admission policy. After being released, he confirmed that he had been brutally tortured during the custody for being active for the rights of Baloch students as well as raising his voice for the Baloch Missing Persons. He was once again whisked away from his home at Shahi Tump (Turbat) along with his cousin on November 26, 2010. The bullet-riddled dead body of Kambar Chakar, along with Ilyas Nizar Baloch, was found in a desolate place near Pasni Road, Pidrak area of Kech, Balochistan on 5th of January, 2011.
