Banuk Kegad Baloch, a resident of Gomazi, Tump, was a dedicated political activist and senior member of the Baloch National Movement (BNM). She tirelessly worked to mobilize support for the Baloch national struggle and emphasized the importance of participation in the ongoing fight for independence. Despite attempts by Pakistani forces to silence her, she responded with unwavering resolve, stating, “We sacrifice ourselves for freedom, but we will never surrender to the occupier.”
On July 24, 2021, Pakistani forces conducted a military raid on Banuk Kegad’s home and those of her relatives, subjecting women and children to severe torture. As a result of these extreme abuses, Kegad achieved martyrdom.
