Meer Jan Meeral was born on January 18, 1975 in the house of Nasrat Ullah Baloch and Ayasha Baloch in Tump area of Kech. He did his matriculation from High School Tump in 1994. He was doing FA when his father died in 1996 and after father’s death, he could not continue his education. He married in 1998. He had four children, three sons Miraj Meeral, Minhaj Meeral, Nasrat Ullah and a daughter, Mehlab Meeral. He interested in Balochi literature and was a poet who penned down his feelings and condition of the society around him in his poetries. He became part of Baloch Liberation movement in the platform of Baloch Republican Army (BRA). He was so committed and disciplined, his personal friends and villagers did not know that he had joined in an armed organization. On September 3, 2009, he received information that a private vehicle was hired by the Frontier Corp (FC) in Mand to transport ten of its soldiers in civilian cloth. He along with his comrades took position by the side of the road, as the vehicle came into range they ambushed it, on the spot several soldiers of the Pakistani occupying forces were dead. mission was accomplished, but unfortunately their motor cycle did not start also another Frontier Corp (FC) team arrived on target and a clash started between Baloch Freedom fighters and FC. Others fighters managed to get away, but Meer Jan was hit by several bullets and embraced martyrdom.
Mother of Shaheed Meer Jan Meeral told journalist “three days before he told me that he has chosen a path, pray that I accomplish the goal I set for myself.” she further said “I am proud of my son he fulfilled his obligation towards me and his motherland”.
